More truth and ugly

Good news bad news. All of my treatment is over. Both chemo and radiation. Radiation is a funny thing. It sneaks up on you. After 20 treatments there was a little soreness (enough to use a pillow to sit) but after 26 I have 2nd degree burns all over my bottom area. Now I have blisters all over that are popping. My underwear is soaked from the blister water. Skin is peeling off in chunks some as large as my hand. And no area has been spared. I repeat ladies, no area has been spared. I was given topical pain medication for the pain. I might mention when my doc had me pull down my pants to see how things were going her voice choked with what she saw. She asked Mel if he would assist me in applying the pain med and he told me later he is afraid to touch me with the way it looks.
Now add to that diarrhea and vomiting have started and my mouth is all nasty again and those of you that have called know why I am not talking on the phone. Needless to say with all of this I have lost about another 5 lbs.
I am hoping I will be doing better by next week. Doc said better but it would be about 2 weeks for the radiation effects to get a lot better. That should be the same amount of time I need to recoop from the side effects from the chemo. So, I need to close this as other things are calling. Please add comments or send emails. KTPC Love to all

  1. I debated telling this story on your Aug 14 post. Complying with your request to include comets and emails I have decided to share a little humor, I hope. It would appear you have Melvin trained better than some of Melvin's brother were. I have a story about my Dad's first time buying a dozen roses ever. It was Carl and Inez's 50's wedding anniversary; I was home for the occasion and knew that my parents were not going to do much for the special occasion. Other than eating out at one for the local chat n chews, my dad did not do too much to celebrate any occasion. So, I told my dad he needed to buy mom some flowers, not just any flowers but one dozen roses. The only reason I brought it up was I heard hem say he had never bought mom a dozen roses, so I took it upon myself to make that happen at least once. Dad and I went to the local flower shop, Clarksville Florist. I have order/bought flowers many, many times in my life; Lord knows I have needed too. So, we walked into the local flower shop with all the local ladies that have been there for ever. You would have thought that me and dad just walked into a porn-shop. I have never seen him lost-for-words, and act so out of place, so I said hi to everyone and asked what was fresh? And then I asked if they have red roses? The answer was "yes"; so far my dad has not taken another step into the store. I go to the case where the roses are kelp and see that dad is still stuck in one spot, so I go back and said "hey come see the roses". He walks over; I said these look fresh how about a dozen of these? He said yes, but I think he would have said yes to almost anything to be able to leave this place. I ordered, dad paid, I wrote the message to mom in the card and dad did signed the card and we left. Boy, I am so glad we don't live where a Victoria's Secret is located; I might need to call 911. So, kudos to both you and my wonderful uncle, "real men buy flowers". Grrrrrrrrrr; I think I need to pull out a tree by its roots bare handed now. One more Grrrrrrrrrrr for good measure.
